The Test & Performance Market

The market for test and performance tools is booming! Software projects continue becoming larger and more complex. Software projects have become increasingly mission-critical to companies and in many industries are at the heart of a company’s competitive advantage over rivals.

But at the same time, software risks have never been higher. Applications impact how a company’s internal business gets done, how customers transact and interact with a business and how companies care for their customers. Software that doesn't meet requirements, produces invalid results, or which fails under load, can place an enterprise in financial and even legal peril in today's business climate. Software that is so poor in quality or performance that it never gets deployed at all is a waste of scare IT resources.

The need for these software projects to be delivered on time, on budget and to specification is critical and the development manager’s biggest concern has evolved from design and coding to testing, QA and performance tuning. Higher level languages and development tools, as well as improved methodologies, make it easier than ever to write the code.
